A model-based sustainable productivity concept for the best decision-making in rough milling operations

There is a need in manufacturing as machining of being more productive. However, at the same time, workshops are also urged for lesser energy waste cutting operations. Specially, rough milling impellers and bladed integrated disks aircraft engines an efficient use due to long cycle times. Indeed, avoid dramatic tool failures idle times, conditions operations tend be very conservative. This multivariable problem, where process engineers handle several aspects such operation type, toolpath strategies, conditions, or clamping systems. no criterion embracing productivity power consumption. In this sense, work proposes methodology that meets sustainability by using specific sustainable gain (SPG) factor. Three -slot, plunge nad trochoidal milling- were modelled verified. A bottom-up approach based on data from developed mechanistic force models evaluated compared different alternatives making slot, which common king workpieces.
